Lady Gaga's arrival at the 53rd Grammy Awards had the world buzzing quite early on Sunday evening (February 13). The songstress, who premiered her new song "Born This Way" on Friday, hit the Grammys in a semi-see-through egg that seemed like something of an arty reference to that song's title.

Outdoing the space-age Armani Privé getup she wore to last year's Grammys, Gaga was in the egg as she emerged from a truck and was carried by four men and one woman in yellow boxers and dresses to the carpet. The star managed to wave to MTV News' Sway and "Jersey Shore" star Snooki, even though she did not stop to do interviews on the red carpet.

Her Twitter page gave a bit of insight into what Gaga might be up to on Sunday. "This is Nicola, Haus of Gaga: Gaga is in incubation," stylist Nicola Formichetti tweeted on the singer's page. "Tonight's performance is in collaboration with Hussein Chalayan and House of Mugler. X"

Formichetti also wrote about Gaga's big arrival on his own Twitter account. "Grammys red carpet," he tweeted. "Lady gaga wears Mugler by nicola formichetti. Womb by hussein Chalayan. Gaga's pryers are in haus of gaga in collaboration with Mugler. My baby is been born."

Lady Gaga is set to perform her new song live during the Grammy telecast. The singer is up for six awards on Sunday night, including Album of the Year, Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, Best Pop Collaboration With Vocals, Best Pop Vocal Album, Best Dance Recording and Best Short Form Music Video.

PARK CITY, Utah — The boxer, the rapper and their film production company. No, it's not the plot of a movie being screened at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival. It was Floyd Mayweather Jr. and 50 Cent in Park City to promote the launch of Mayweather Productions.

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson and Mayweather, alongside actor Terrence Howard (who was at the festival to promote his latest film, "The Ledge"), sat down with MTV News' Josh Horowitz to discuss their joint venture, and more specifically, partying it up at Sundance.

After talks of hitting the town, with or without wedding rings (to which 50 Cent joked, "I can't condone this type of activity!"), the "craziest interview of Sundance" continued with talk of why they were really there. "We're just celebrating the launch of Mayweather Films," 50 explained.

Mayweather then grabbed the mic and said, "We're going to do what we normally do: sit in a room and brainstorm and try to come up with new ideas ... you know, outside the box. Be creative and just work together and try to be positive. That's the main thing. It's about working hard, being positive and working together."

While Howard, who sat between 50 and Mayweather throughout the interview, had no immediate plans to work with Mayweather Films, he did express interest in seeing the boxing champ in his other line of work. "I just wanna see Mayweather in that ring again!" the Oscar-nominated actor exclaimed. "That's what I wanna see again. That's the project."

On Thursday, Britney Spears will debut her new music video for "Hold It Against Me" at 9:56 p.m. ET on MTV and MTV.com, and in celebration of Brit's epic return to the medium that made her a star, MTV News is hosting a live discussion on MTV.com following the premiere, with a full hour of special guests breaking down the new video and looking forward to what we can expect from Femme Fatale.

Our Britney Spears and "Hold It Against Me" discussion, hosted by MTV News' Jim Cantiello, will stream live Thursday, February 17, at 11 p.m. ET on MTV.com an hour after her big video's world premiere. The clip will make its debut just before a new episode of "Jersey Shore."

The highly anticipated video serves as the lead clip from Britney's March 29 album release, Femme Fatale. On Monday (February 14), Spears released another new tease from the Jonas Åkerlund-directed clip. Lights flash as several male dancers, dressed all in white, fall to the ground, perhaps adding another piece to the dance-routine puzzle. As they hit the ground, a note hums in the background and the words "Hold It Against Me" hit the screen.

Spears took to Twitter to share the link with her fans, writing, "#3daystoHIAM you ready?"

While 2011 seems to be the year of the female pop star, one person close to Britney said this video will boost Spears above the pack. "She's showing that you have to push it as an artist: that you can't just settle, that you can't be calm with your choreography, that you have to make a statement," the video's choreographer, Brian Friedman, told MTV News. "There's so many people out there competing in this world to be the queen of pop, and she's definitely claiming her throne."

During Anderson Cooper's sit-down with Lady Gaga on CBS' "60 Minutes," the veteran anchor noted her refreshing candor, and in the segment the megastar demonstrated just how open she could be.

The "60 Minutes" cameras followed Gaga across the globe for a segment that aired Sunday night (February 13), and Mother Monster freely dished that while she no longer dabbles in cocaine, she does partake in some herbal refreshment when she opens her lyrics.

"I smoke a lot of pot when I write music. I'm not gonna sugarcoat it for '60 Minutes,' " Gaga said matter-of-factly, adding that she knocks back whiskey as well when she writes. The "Born This Way" singer, who maintained in the same interview that she had "mastered the art of fame," added that her upfront manner is central to her superstardom.

"What artists do wrong is they lie, and I don't lie. I'm not a liar," she said.

And as we all know, she's not shy either, letting the "60 Minutes" crew tag along with her on a walk on the Thames river in London that gets crashed by paparazzi (she admitted she never gets used to the overamped photogs), showing up nearly nude to a sit-down in Milan ("I just didn't want to wear clothes today," she explained. "I just wanted eyeliner and my McQueen boots") and describing her rocky years as a high-school misfit.

"I felt disenfranchised by my school and the people at the school who would make fun of me ... and make me not feel cool," she said. Her new nom de stage — and the elaborately creative persona that accompanies it — liberated her from her confidence issues.

"I was able to leave such a massive amount of insecurities behind me by giving me that name," she said. "You have the freedom to pull that superstar out of yourself that you were born to be."

As her fans can attest, she's got the superstar thing down; the segment showed her preaching self-empowering proclamations to crying, emotional fans in concert. She also batted away any notions that she doesn't helm her image personally, insisting she works studiously when it comes to creating her headline-making getups and chart-topping anthems.

"I'm a true academic when it comes to music and when it comes to my style," she maintained. "There's always some sort of a story or a concept that I'm telling."

During the interview she rocks out to a few seconds of "Born This Way," tries to drop in on her old New York apartment and dishes about what she does and does not answer to in bed. Given the outrageousness of her antics and image, Cooper asked what the real Gaga is like. The pop sensation maintained there's no difference between who she is onstage and off.

"How much more real could I be?" she wondered, when recounting how photogs often ask for Gaga to be herself. "This is what I'm really like. This is the coffee I drink every day, this is the diamond I put in the cup when I get nervous," she added, suckling a fake diamond-like rock that she dropped in her cup — which is very likely a singular Gaga quirk.

Beyoncé never really seems to slow down, so when the time came to choose a director for her concert special DVD "I Am ... World Tour," the singer decided to take on those duties too. It's an accomplishment the singer jokes may have sparked those pregnancy rumors.

"I was pregnant with this DVD, yes!" she joked to MTV News.

The DVD hits stores on November 30, but fans can catch the 90-minute "I Am ... World Tour" TV special when it airs on ABC Thanksgiving night at 9:30 p.m. ET. Beyoncé opened up about what it was like to sit in the director's chair.

"Well, I've done some co-directing for music videos [but] this was definitely a big step for me, and I'm so thrilled," she said at the New York City screening for the flick.

Beyoncé said she was completely hands-on, deciding which moments made the final cut and which ones wound up on the cutting-room floor. "It was hard work," she said. "I learned so much. I have a new respect for directors and I think I would like to do more of it."

Her parents, Mathew and Tina Knowles, who also attended the screening over the weekend, said the film gives B the recognition she deserves after years of collaborating on many of her own videos.

"I'm really excited about this because Beyoncé has been making little short films and really helping to direct her videos," Tina told us. "So it's nice that she'll get credit for doing something that she really loves doing and that she's very talented at."

Dad Mathew recalled all of the effort his superstar daughter put into the special. "I'm so proud," he said. "I had an opportunity [to see the film], I've been to Houston with a screening; I've been to Bentonville, [Arkansas], with a screening, and to see the excitement from the audience, what an incredible job Beyoncé did as a director in the editing, I'm just so proud. Hopefully, all the fans go out and get the DVD and soundtrack and look at that ABC special coming on Thanksgiving."

Usher's 'OMG' Gets Celeb Endorsement As Song Of The Year

2010 had some great jams, and all week, MTV News has been counting down some of its best. Everything from Lady Gaga's "Telephone" and Rick Ross' "B.M.F. (Blowin' Money Fast)" to two of Kanye's West's killer My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy tracks, "Power" and "Runaway," made the top 10. But it was Usher's bombastic party jam "OMG" that rose to the top and came in at #1.

So what made that song such a party anthem? "Oh my God! That's exactly what I would say! Oh my God!" Pauly D joked about 2010's top party jam. "Dope, dope track. I love playing it. The crowd goes crazy when I play it. Usher's the man!"

Travie McCoy added: "It's a great song. It's undeniable, you know what I mean?"

"Dancing With the Stars" pro Lacey Schwimmer admitted that "OMG" was the track that got dancers, both professional and amateur, on the dance floor. "You guys got a great dance anthem," she said. "So be prepared for people who do not know how to dance just going to town!"

Producer Alex Da Kid gave props to will.i.am for the song's epic beat. "I love 'OMG.' I think it's definitely something different for Usher," he said. "And it still has all the dance performance elements Usher's known for, but it's something slightly different and done in a will.i.am kind of way, and it's different and that's why it connected to so many different people. It's a great song."

'Transformers: Dark Of The Moon' Is 'Epic,' Michael Bay Says

'It takes awhile to get it right,' director tells MTV News of 'Dark of the Moon.'

Michael Bay has been admirably open about what he — and many fans of his "Transformers" franchise — view as the second film's failings resulting from a rushed, post-writers'-strike production schedule. And he's promised to right those cinematic wrongs with the third installment in the series, "Transformers: Dark of the Moon."

Early looks at footage from the upcoming action flick — a tantalizing teaser trailer and a balletic Super Bowl spot — seem to indicate he's accomplished that goal.

"I think it takes awhile to get it right," he explained to MTV News on Wednesday night at the red-carpet premiere of "I Am Number Four," which he produced. "I think we did not want the third one to suck."

The problem with 2009's "Revenge of the Fallen," Bay once again pointed out, is that the writers' strike left the production hardly any time to nail down a script. The filmmakers found themselves essentially trying to create a story line in the edit room, rather than on the page before shooting began.

"The second one, we had a tough go," Bay told us. "It was a very, very tough thing to make a movie under those circumstances. It affected a lot of Hollywood at that time."

This time around, Bay said, "We worked extra hard" and struck upon "a better story." "It's epic and it happens in a city," he added. "It's more accessible because you recognize stuff — it's not in a desert. It's kind of like 'Black Hawk Down' with our small group of heroes in a city."

On the carpet, Bay also briefly touched on two new alien bots set to debut in "Dark of the Moon." "Sentinel Prime is great. He's great," he said. "I can't tell you anything else, other than he's great."

And about the villain Shockwave, Bay say, "He's bad," adding that compared to Megatron, "He's got a much bigger gun [and is] a little bit more vicious."

Though Bay is certain he's got a winner on his hands, the director maintained that "Dark of the Moon" will be his final "Transformers" film. "It does have an end, yes," he said. "Because I am finished doing this."

50 Cent Shows Off Shoveling Prowess On 'Conan'

Fif talks about his impromptu snow-removal biz and his dog named Oprah.

When 50 Cent appeared on "Conan" on Wednesday night, the entrepreneurial-minded rapper didn't just hawk his new "Sleek by 50 Cent" wireless headphones, he told Conan O'Brien a story that demonstrated his business prowess.

Last month, during the heavy snowfall that blanketed the East Coast, 50 found himself shoveling his grandmother's driveway. After posting a picture of himself in action on Twitter, an idea went off in his head.

"I wanted to see if the principles of business applied to everything," he told the late-night host.

The G-Unit general then recruited a group of neighborhood kids and went around knocking on doors to offer their snow removal services.

"I sent the little guy to knock on the door," 50 explained.

"That's low," O'Brien shot back.

"I gave them the money," the rapper said, laughing. "I gave them some."

50 said the collective made $1,000 from shoveling 10 homes; he also charged homeowners for a picture of him shoveling, and turned that the money over to the kids too.

The jokes from the rapper didn't stop there, though. The TBS host showed the audience a picture from 50's Twitter profile of the rapper sitting at a desk with a schnauzer dog on his lap.

The dog's name? Oprah Winfrey.

"At first I thought Oprah didn't like hip-hop, so I didn't like her," he explained. "But I hadn't had a chance to meet her. I bought the dog, and now I love her."

The rapper also has a cat named (you guessed it) Gayle, after Winfrey's BFF Gayle King.

"It was one of those things where I didn't know what to name the cat, it just made sense," 50 said.

Although the rapper admitted he's never met Winfrey, he told O'Brien that he has met King and admires her. "She's great," he said.

'Prometheus' Has 'Definite Connection' To 'Alien,' Michael Fassbender Says

'It's definitely in keeping with the old ones,' movie's star says about confusion over the Ridley Scott film.

Ever since a Deadline New York report last month, there has been a lot of confusion about Ridley Scott's newest "Alien" film, which marks the director's return to the franchise more than 30 years after he brought the first "Alien" movie to the big screen.

After word of the project first broke in the summer of 2009, the new report suggested the film was in fact not an "Alien" prequel but rather a film born of "Alien DNA" that is "unique, large and provocative." Yet at the same time, contrary to this new spin, we were hearing that the film — titled "Prometheus" — was in fact a prequel to the franchise. Now, this all might be a matter of semantics (not to mention movie marketing), but there's no doubt that confusion has surrounded the exact nature of the production.

So when we had the chance to speak with one of the stars of the new film, Michael Fassbender, while he was promoting "Jane Eyre," we asked him to shed some light on these conflicting judgments. And as he told us, "Prometheus" is most definitely an "Alien" movie.

"Absolutely," he said. "There's a definite connecting vein. You realize you're part of something else. But it's definitely in keeping with the old ones."

What's more, Fassbender said the new film is more closely related to the slow-burning "Alien," which Scott directed, than James Cameron's more action-oriented follow-up, "Aliens."

"It is more sort of the original one," Fassbender explained. "There's things happening and building, and the intelligence of the first two-thirds of the film gets you ready for the action ... it's creeping, it's sinister, things are happening and building, all the different intrigues and politics going on between the different relationships onboard."

That's not to say Damon Lindelof, who worked on the script with Scott, was blowing smoke when he said things to Deadline like, "In a world flooded with prequels, sequels and reboots, I was incredibly struck by just how original Ridley's vision was for this movie."

Fassbender told us that while "Prometheus" fits squarely within "Alien" mythology, the film delivers "a whole new revelation."

Britney Spears' Femme Fatale Twitter Trend Keeps Rolling

Title of pop star's March 29 release is #10 longest-running trend on social-networking site.

Britney Spears' upcoming album, Femme Fatale, doesn't hit shelves until March 29, but it's already breaking records.

The title, which has been trending worldwide on Twitter since Spears first announced it exactly a week ago, just nabbed the #10 spot on a list of the longest running Twitter trends gathered by Twend.It, a site that tracks topics on the social-networking site.

"Can't believe Femme Fatale has been trending 6 days. You guys are my motivation every single day. I love u all!" Spears wrote Tuesday on Twitter, where she has more than 6.8 million followers; she also included a link to the official announcement on her site.

The top 10 list uses Twitter's algorithms to tally the number of times a topic has trended since May 2010, when Twend.It was founded.

"It's culturally important," said Nick DiFilippo, co-founder of Twend.it, who added that the popularity of entertainment topics on Twitter validates the notion that social-networking is an effective advertising tool that allows artists to reach their fans more directly. "They are finding a way to connect with their fanbase."

The ranking puts Spears in good company: Femme Fatale, the only music-related Twitter trend to break the top 10, joins "Inception," which is holding strong at #1 after trending for a total of 39 days. "Inception" was one of 2010's biggest box-office hits, grossing nearly $292 million domestically.

Of course, success on Twitter doesn't always lead to great sales. Other pop culture strongholds on the list include the movies "Last Airbender" at #9, and "Scott Pilgrim," positioned at #5. Both films disappointed at the box office.

Also noticeably absent from the list are Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga, both of whom were among the top five most-tweeted-about people in 2010. So while Bieber and Gaga each have strong followings on Twitter, Twend.it's DiFilippo doesn't think Spears is in danger of being pushed out of the top 10. In fact, he predicts Femme Fatale will quickly move up on the list.

"The way these trends go is once they hit momentum it gets hard to stop them," he said. "Something like an album releasing, especially by one of the biggest pop artists around, it's going to have some momentum, so I do predict it's going to go a bit higher. I could see it going up to the sixth, fifth place at least."

While the album doesn't come out until next month, Britney fans have plenty to look forward to: The pop star has been tweeting daily teasers to her upcoming video for "Hold It Against Me," which premieres on MTV on February 17 at 9:56 p.m. ET.

Katy Perry not only glams up for the new issue of Elle, but she also gets real. The singer — who is gearing up for a big performance on this Sunday's Grammy Awards — dishes on diva behavior, discusses her personal life and even reveals how much she weighs in the fashion magazine's latest cover story.

"I feel like I'm at a point in my life right now where I could potentially stick around," Perry says about her outlook on being a pop star. "I don't feel like a diva, but I think diva is a great and powerful word in the sense of what Beyoncé makes it. And maybe I can't be Beyoncé, but maybe I can be Cyndi Lauper. I mean be like her, not be her. That would just be weird."

The singer also admits to having some ambitions outside of the entertainment world. "I think some people will die on the stage, and I'm not so sure I want to do that. Like, I want to have kids!" she explains. "I'm totally fine with saying that. I think some people are scared because they're worried it's going to ruin their career, but I want to live a full life."

That full life, these days, includes her hubby, Russell Brand, who she says is her perfect better half. "Everything clicked really fast. We kind of instantly got past all the surfacey stuff. And ever since then, there hasn't been a dull moment," she says. "We both needed balance, and we give that to each other. It wasn't about me taming him, which is what everyone always says — it was about timing."

Perry doesn't hold back at all, revealing details about her weight that very few celebrities seem willing to share with the world. "I was shaped like a square at one time. I was! I'm generally around 130 pounds, which is totally fine for me," she confesses. "But when I was a kid, I was the same height and weighed more like 145. And I had enormous boobs that I didn't know what to do with, so I wore minimizers, which were not cute. Those thick-ass straps! I got made fun of for the over-the-shoulder boulder holder ... and all I wanted was to look like Kate Moss. Little did I know ... that these things would come in handy someday."

Britney Spears' Femme Fatale 'Not Done,' Dr. Luke Says

'We're in the middle of it right now,' producer says of March 15 release.

With a little more than five weeks left until the release of Femme Fatale, it seems that Britney Spears is still working alongside the album's executive producers, Dr. Luke and Max Martin, to put the finishing touches on the album.

"We're in the middle of it right now. It's a little bit fluid right now. I can't even say at this stage what songs for sure are making it and what songs aren't," Dr. Luke told RollingStone.com. "We're working with a lot of producers and overseeing it with her A&R and record label and management and trying to make something cohesive." Bottom line, he said, is that "it's not done."

Not to worry: Spears apparently is so speedy when it comes to hitting the studio, Luke has no qualms that they'll make the March 15 deadline. "Britney's really fast," Dr. Luke said. "She gets it done."

The super-producer also opened up about the album's debut single, "Hold It Against Me," noting that it was meant for another pop princess: "We might have played it for her, but it definitely wasn't a Katy Perry record," he explained. "We had it for a while. I wanted to make sure it didn't sound like everything else I've done. I brought it into [producer] Billboard, and he just killed it. It can be hard in the verse, and the bridge is super, super hard, but the chorus is super pop. You can play that chorus acoustically on a guitar and it's still going to sound great."

Others producers on the album include Bloodshy and Benny Blanco. Dr. Luke took to Twitter to tease fans with possible track titles for the release. He shared, "One of these titles could be a new brit song: a) booga dooga b) the sun is up c) seal it with a kiss d) monkey c monkey do."

Other reported titles are leaking as well. According to a posting on Popjustice.com, other Femme Fatale tracks might include "Antidote" (described as a Ke$ha-esque dance track), "Switch You On" (a mid-tempo song about sex) and "I I I Wanna Go O O" (another dance track).
